Shake Shack wanted to bring the bay area feel to their new location that opened up at Hillsdale Shopping Center in San Mateo, California. Muros proposed a San Francisco based artist who goes by the alias fnnch to paint the exterior mural. His signature pop art murals can be seen scattered throughout the Bay area.
When fnnch moved to San Francisco he became obsessed with street art, but felt there were not enough people pushing the art form forward. So he decided to hit the streets himself armed with multi-layered stencils and spray paint. Since, he has built a strong social media presence, has been featured on the cover of the SF Chronicle and partnered with by brands like Shake Shack, J.Crew, TOMS Shoes and Benefit Cosmetics. He’s also been featured in galleries in San Francisco, Chicago and Los Angeles.
